Highlights
- About 30 km before arriving in the town of Essaouira, you'll spot the first argan trees, which exist only in Morocco between this region of Essaouira and that of Agadir to the south. This is where you can come across troops of goats climbing the argan trees, and where you can visit a cooperative that extracts argan oil. A woman from the cooperative will give you a detailed explanation of the oil extraction process and its uses.
- On arrival in Essaouira, you'll take a guided tour of the medina and its places of interest, including Sqala, the Jewish quarter, the artisanal port, and the souks, where you'll find craft workshops where you can shop and buy sovenirs , the city's specialty par excellence.
